Sights of the Ötztal
The Ötztal has a history spanning thousands of years, as evidenced not least by the discovery of "Ötzi – the Iceman". The Ötztal dialect was only recently added to the UNESCO cultural heritage list. The founder of the German Alpine Club, the priest Franz Senn, came from Längenfeld. These are just a few highlights of the valley's rich history. You can find out all about it at the Ötztal Heimatmuseum in Längenfeld, the Ötzi-Dorf in Umhausen, the Turmmuseum in Ötz or at events held by the Naturpark Ötztal.
