Culture and Events in the Ötztal Valley

The Ötztal Valley has a history dating back thousands of years, as the discovery of the ‘man from the ice’ – Ötzi can attest if nothing else. Only recently the Ötztal dialect has been elevated to Unesco cultural heritage status. The founder of the German Alpine Club, Father Franz Senn, hails from Längenfeld. These are just a few highlights of the valley’s diverse history. You can find more comprehensive information at the Ötztal Museum of Local History in Längenfeld, in the Ötzi Village in Umhausen, at the Tower Museum in Ötz or at the events in the Ötztal Nature Park.

There is also a host of concerts, exhibitions and other events taking place in the Ötztal Valley throughout the year. Find out more on the website www.oetztal.com
